Course Introduction

Research areas include: Administrative, constitutional and human rights; commercial, company, securities regulation, international trade, property and insolvency; comparative law; Japanese law, criminal law, evidence, criminology, European institutions and law, external relations, internal market, family law, alternative dispute resolution, socio'legal studies, environmental law, jurisprudence, legal theory and history, medical and legal ethics, media, intellectual property, telecommunications law; the research student programme includes research methodology seminars, discussion groups, student work presentations and a law teachers training programme.

Course Additional Entry

A minimum qualifications are a 2nd Class Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard; or a recognised LLM or equivalent taught Master's degree; strong preference is given to applicants who can demonstrate the ability to produce high quality written research gained during LLM or equivalent Master's level study or through relevant research work experience.
