The course consists of studies in contemporary music education which stress a creative, skills based approach to practical music making in the secondary schools. An in'depth series of practical workshops in music technology which focus on a wide range of musical styles including classical, jazz, pop and world music opportunities for prospective instrumental teachers to focus on their specialist area. The course leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) on completion of skills tests.

Course Additional Entry
Degree (2.2 or above) in a relevant subject. GCSE in mathematics and English grade C or above. It is also recommended that students undertake at least 2 weeks work experience within a secondary music classroom before applying.
