Course Introduction

This programme provides you with the essential tools required for theoretical and empirical economic analysis, particularly in relation to the renewable natural resources sector. You are able to take modules orientated towards development, production, marketing, and policy.

Course Modules

Modules include: Economics and institutions for development; economic principles; agricultural trade and policy; food security and social protection; political economy of public policy; applied econometrics; climate change and development; marketing for small agribusinesses; natural resource economics; project planning and management; rural development; socioeconomics of rural livelihoods; understanding poverty; water resources management; rural finance.

Course Additional Entry

An Honours degree or equivalent in appropriate subject required for MSc; graduates in other disciplines which have included appropriate subjects and suitable preliminary training for this course, and non'graduates with previous education approved by the University as degree'equivalent, are considered for Postgraduate Diploma; advanced level of ability to work in English is required, equivalent to IELTS score 7.0 or TOEFL Test of English score 600.
