Course Introduction

' You'll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with animals across the taxonomic spectrum, from microbes to man and beyond. ' You will build your zoological knowledge and learn the latest laboratory techniques from well'respected experts.

Course Modules

Year 1: diversity of life 1; diversity of life 2; chemistry of life; biometrics: physiology, statistics and maths; cell biology;human ecology and adaptation. Year 2: biosciences field course; animal biology 1; animal biology 2; biosciences research methods. Optional modules: understanding behaviour; molecular biology: theory and practice; ecosystems; humans and other primates. Year 3: biosciences research project; biosciences independent study. Optional modules: animal behaviour and cognition; advances in molecular biology and biotechnology; conservation ecology; aquatic and invertebrate biology; conservation, people and wildlife (South African field course); primate biology and conservation; palaeoanthropology.
