Course Introduction

If you are interested in the scientific processes and principles that underpin sport participation and performance, this course is ideal. It covers the theory and practical aspects of sport science, giving you the opportunity to explore a range of sport'related subjects, from exercise physiology and sport psychology to biomechanics and notational analysis.

Course Modules

Level 1: Basic human anatomy and physiology; introductory sports psychology; business environment and human resource management; managing information; basic mathematics and computing; sports practical. Level 2: Exercise physiology and nutrition; sports psychology; research methods; financial resource management and marketing; sports practical. Level 3: Sports psychology; applied biomechanics; sports injuries; sports politics and society; optional modules include: fitness assessment and training programmes; exercise prescription; operations management in sport and leisure; strategic management in sport & leisure.
