Course Introduction

The integration of business objectives with wider social and environmental well'being is a key function of contemporary management. This pathway offers a forward'thinking learning experience which reveals the importance of sustainability to all sectors of global business. Undertaking this pathway will help you to become a more responsible citizen and improve your ability to influence others as a role'model manager, steering businesses toward constructive change.

Course Modules

Term 1 core modules: communication and research in business; economics for global business; global perspectives; and introduction to sustainable global management. Term 2 core modules: creative behaviour; financial accounting and analysis; principles of law; and quantitative business analysis. Term 3 core modules: business planning in a global context; personal development planning; principles of global marketing; principles of organisational behaviour. Core modules for students who do not undertake a work placement in terms 4'6: corporate responsibility; global supply chains; managing uncertainty; research methods; change management for corporate sustainability; strategic analysis and management; pathway research project; 3 elective modules. Students who undertake a work placement in Terms 5 and 6 will study the following modules in Terms 7 and 8: change management for corporate sustainability; strategic analysis and management; pathway research project; 2 elective modules. Elective modules: branding; change management for corporate sustainability; company analysis and valuation; design and the law; design finance; design leadership; entrepreneurship and new business; environmental sustainability; financial portfolio management; global media management; global political economy; innovation for sustainable global enterprise; interactive and digital marketing; Islamic finance; management and technology; management issues for the global family business; managerial finance; managing advertising copywriting and marketing communications; managing strategic design; market analysis; multinational financial management; organisational politics; people, sustainability and SMEs; social innovation; strategic marketing management; sustainability in emerging economies; sustainability in practice; sustainability'led marketing; the global manager; wealth management.
