Course Introduction

The MSc cancer and therapeutics is designed to provide students with a clear understanding of the scientific principles underlying the practice of cancer therapeutics and the development, evaluation and implementation of new treatments. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with a thorough knowledge of cancer biology and pathology, research methodologies, drug development, and regulatory issues. Students will be provided with a firm grounding in the use and evaluation of cancer therapies, which will enhance career prospects in many areas of early phase clinical trials, Allied Health Professions and the pharmaceutical industry.

Course Modules

Modules include: ablative therapies; cancer biology; cancer pharmacology' cancer prevention and screening; drug development; molecular diagnostics and therapeutics; molecular targeted therapies and immunotherapy for blood cancers' research methods; site specific tumour treatment; research project

Course Additional Entry

Applicants should have a minimum 2:2 degree in relevant subject (eg, biology/chemistry/pharmacology/medicine), or degree equivalent qualification, from a recognised academic institution or an appropriate professional qualification or experience.
