Course Introduction

The Natural Sciences MSci draws together elements of physics, mathematics, chemistry, astrophysics, Earth sciences, life sciences, and science and technology studies. The programme enables students who wish to maintain a breadth of science subjects to design a unique degree which is suited to their personal interests. This four'year programme offers an additional year of study on top of the Natural Sciences BSc. Students have the opportunity to deepen and extend their knowledge by taking advanced optional courses and completing a major project.

2 streams a followed for 3 years; year 4 consists of specialist study in 1 area; core streams: chemistry: physical chemistry; inorganic and materials chemistry; synthetic organic chemistry; Earth sciences: geophysical science; physical science; life sciences: biomedical sciences; molecular and cell biology; physics: astrophysics; atomic and particle physics; condensed matter physics; medical physics; science and technology studies: history and philosophy of science; science communication and policy; additional options: mathematics; management studies; science and technology studies; computer science; statistical science; psychology; languages.
