Brunel University London

Course Introduction

Brunel University London is a world top 100 engineering university. (Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2014/5.) We pioneered the concept of sandwich courses with a paid year working in industry. 50 years on we still pave the way when it comes to establishing links with the working world, and giving our students invaluable industrial and commercial insight. Taking the MEng sandwich programme gives you a fast'track route to chartered engineering status. We are professionally accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). Mechanical engineers deal with the design and production of the machines, systems and structures that are taken for granted in the modern world. The range and diversity of career choice is consequently tremendous. Our range of mechanical engineering courses is designed to meet the needs of industry and reflect our world'class research interests including: ' energy and environmental engineering ' internal combustion engines and their fuels ' materials and manufacturing. We're here to make sure you make the most of this wealth of engineering opportunity. Mechanical engineering with aeronautics shares several of the aircraft design topics studied on our aerospace and aviation degrees. The course will introduce you to the exciting world of aeronautics and aerospace ' an industry working at the frontiers of advanced technology. In the latter part of the course you will study aircraft aerodynamics, avionics, aircraft design and flight mechanics.
