Course Introduction

This four'year programme aims to develop students' interest in, and knowledge and understanding of, the French and francophone worlds past and present, including language, film studies, literature from the medieval and early modern to the contemporary, libertinism, theory, modernism and postcolonialism.

Course Modules

Year 1 examples: Use of French 1; the making of modern France; French literature in contexts. Year 2 examples: Use of French 2; project in the French language. Year 3 examples: Year abroad. Year 4 examples: Use of French 3; French oral 3; essay in French; advanced translation.
