Conservatoire for Dance and Drama

Course Introduction

Students are placed in teaching groups appropriate to their skill and experience and take daily classes in contemporary dance and ballet. Classes are accompanied by live music. All students have the option to attend individual technique coaching and tutorial sessions to enable the development of their full potential. In addition their technical development is supported by classes in body conditioning, the Alexander Technique and the Feldenkrais Method.

Course Modules

Core modules include: Introductory technique; introductory choreography, improvisation and performance; introduction to contextual professional studies; performance projects; intermediate technique; intermediate choreography, improvisation and performance; intermediate contextual professional studies; advanced technique. Option modules include (choose 2): Choreographic collaborations; interarts; improvisation into performance; repertory; original work (work created with students by commissioned choreographers).
