Course Introduction

Our new PPL LLB programme offers a unique opportunity for students to fulfil the requirements of a qualifying law degree, while at the same time being able to choose from a range of optional modules from the Philosophy and new Political Economy departments at King's, graduating with a well'rounded degree highly sought'after by a variety of potential employers.

Course Modules

Year 1 examples of modules: Comparing political systems; European law; elements of the law of contract; political philosophy I. Year 2 examples of modules: Ethics II (contemporary ethical philosophy); political philosophy II (theories of justice); political philosophy II (history of political philosophy); political economy concepts and issues. Year 3 examples of modules: English administrative law; environmental law and policy; family law; history of English law; human rights law; labour law; law and social theory; law of evidence; law of personal taxation; media law; medical law; moral philosophy. Year 4 examples of modules: Philosophy of religion; philosophy of science; scepticism; science, ethics and society; topics in Greek philosophy; topics in modern philosophy; topics in philosophy of mind.
