Course Introduction

Research areas include: literature of Netherlands and Flanders from 1850 to present day, with special emphasis on colonial and post'colonial writing, historical novel, modernist and postmodernist prose, modern and contemporary poetry; Dutch renaissance literature of 16th and 17th centuries, especially poetry and drama; modern Dutch language and linguistics, including sociolinguistics, Dutch as a foreign language, and history of linguistic thought in Netherlands; comparative literature and translation studies, including Anglo'Dutch literary relations, and literary translation from/into Dutch from 16th century to present day.

Course Additional Entry

A minimum of an upper 2nd Class UK Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard.
