Course Introduction

Civil engineers deal with the design and construction of roads, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges and water supply or sewage systems. This course enables you to progress and qualify as a chartered civil or structural engineer, and provides a strong base of high'quality technical abilities together with good management and personal skills.

Course Modules

Year 1: Concentrates on engineering science, modules include: introduction to materials; stress; structures; engineering applications. Year 2: Core modules: civil engineering; hydraulics; geotechnics; surveying; project management; computing. Year 3: Core modules: group project work; residential field courses surveying and geology; site visits; students specialise in areas such as water; the environment; building; transportation; advanced structures.
