Course Introduction

Study a pharmacy degree in the heart of London. Pharmacy is the practical application of the study of the science of medicines. Pharmacists are experts in the discovery, development, manufacture and supply of medicines and play a vital role in the healthcare team. Clinical placements and enhanced pre'registration opportunities at our partner NHS Hospital Foundation Trusts: Guy's and St Thomas', King's College Hospital and the South London and Maudsley.

Course Modules

Year 1 core modules: Pharmacy orientation; biochemical basis of therapeutics; pharmacy practice and biopharmacy; physical pharmaceutics; chemistry of drugs. Year 2 core modules: Formulation and analysis of drugs; the nervous system; cardiovascular and renal systems; respiratory and musculoskeletal systems. Year 3 core modules: Infections and pharmaceutical microbiology; medicines discovery and development; endocrine system and cancer; gastrointestinal systems and skin; professional examinations. Year 4 core modules: Chemical mediators and disease; drug delivery and industrial pharmacy; drug toxicity; emerging therapeutics and modern medicine; applied clinical practice.
