Course Introduction

The St Mary's Law degree is a small, friendly programme in which significant emphasis is given to supporting students individually. There is also a specific focus on development of key employability skills. There is a wide range of option modules including work'based learning placements and a diverse variety of assessment methods, not just exams. The programme boasts and experienced teaching team including former practitioners as well as research active academics.

Course Modules

Level 1: modules: legal systems and method; contract law; public law; criminal law. Level 2: core modules: tort law; European law; land law; option modules: company law and corporate governance; consumer and commercial law; intellectual property law; canon law; criminal justice; legal skills. Level 3: option modules: employment law; law of international trade; insurance law; banking law; comparative law; Shari'a law; medical law and ethics.
