Course Introduction

This course focuses on the area of minorities, rights and the law. Students on this course study the extent to which minorities, indigenous peoples and others in vulnerable situations have access to international human rights law.

Course Modules

Compulsory: dissertation; international migration and the law; minorities and groups in vulnerable positions; discrimination and the law; globalisation and trade; international organisations international dispute resolution; optional modules: International human rights; issues in EU Law.

Course Additional Entry

Candidates should possess an undergraduate law degree (minimum 2.2) or equivalent qualification in a related discipline. Those without a law background are required to undertake a course entitled 'Introduction to the Law' during induction week. Applicants should have competence in English language and grade C GCSE or an equivalent qualification. IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all 4 components) or TOEFL internet based 87 (with at least 21 in listening and writing, 22 in speaking and 23 in reading).
