Course Introduction

This course will help you develop the creative professional practice, technological knowledge and theoretical understanding necessary for a career in product and furniture design. Strong emphasis is placed on gaining and developing skills in the creative, intelligent and sustainable application of current and emerging materials, technologies and processes.

Course Modules

Core and optional modules may include: Year 1 design studies I; design studies II; design realisation; product and furniture design specialism I; professional portfolio; themes in the history of design and architecture: contextual studies or language option. Year 2: interdisciplinary design; product and furniture design specialism II; product and furniture design specialism III; product and furniture design specialism IV; professional portfolio; themes in the history of design and architecture: contextual studies or a language option. Year 3: design studies V; product and furniture design specialism V; professional portfolio; professional practice; dissertation.
