The course is built around special options which provide in'depth knowledge of a particular period. This specialist focus is supplemented by a core methodology course which provides an excellent grounding in art historical methods. Special options are taught in small class sizes of 5'10 students, which encourages focussed discussion between students and academics.
Core modules: Classical, Byzantine and medieval; Renaissance; early modern; modern; history of architecture; history of dress; history and theory of art museum.
Course Additional Entry
Good upper 2nd Class Honours degree in a humanities discipline, or equivalent. Students whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 7.0 or equivalent (with a minimum 6.5 in both Reading and Writing).
