Course Modules

Year 1: diversity of life 1; diversity of life 2; chemistry of life; biometrics (physiology, statistics and maths); cell biology; human ecology and adaptation. Year 2: biosciences field course; biosciences research methods; molecular biology (theory and practice); animal biology 1; animal biology 2. Optional modules: understanding behaviour; immunology; ecosystems; physiology and metabolism; pharmacology and toxicology; the brain in health and disease; humans and other primates .year 3: biosciences research project or biosciences independent study. Optional modules: epidemiology and medical microbiology; animal behaviour and cognition; pathophysiology; advances in molecular biology and biotechnology; conservation ecology; aquatic and invertebrate biology; conservation, people and wildlife (South African field course); primate biology and conservation; palaeoanthropology.
