Course Introduction

Our aim is to produce communicators who are at ease working with members of engineering and marketing teams, appreciating their individual needs and capable of contributing to and coordinating the design process. We'll help you cultivate the range of skills you need to understand 'total design', from the function of products through to their external values. We encourage respect for people and their needs and values, design issues, theories and design history as well as material and production technologies and engineering design. Our Design staff includes mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, materials scientists, computer scientists, mathematicians, psychologists and ergonomists, as well as practicing designers and graphic artists. All our lecturers are research and/or professionally active so our course content is constantly up'to'date and evolves with the world of commercial design.
