Course Introduction

This programme is designed for dental graduates who wish to pursue a career in paediatric dentistry either in primary or secondary care services, or in a university setting; the programme can contribute the 1st 2 years of clinical training leading to Membership in Paediatric Dentistry of The Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and full active membership of the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry; students undertake extensive clinical, formal teaching and a supervised research project.

Course Modules

Modules include: Foundation course; statistics, ethics and research methods; basic knowledge in paediatric dentistry; advance knowledge in paediatric dentistry 1; advance knowledge in paediatric dentistry 2; basic clinical skills and case'mix; specific clinical skill; clinical diagnosis and treatment plan; research project.

Course Additional Entry

A primary qualification in dentistry (BDS or equivalent); plus 2 years of post qualification clinical practice of dentistry; all applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 7.0 (with a minimum of 6.5 in all skills), TOEFL 106 (internet'based), TOEFL 263 (computer'based), or TOEFL 627 (paper'based).
