Course Introduction

Are you interested in mathematical theory and the application of mathematical methods to commercial and scientific problems? This course provides a broad education in mathematics and the main concepts and methods of management. It concentrates on the methods and modelling techniques of mathematics, but also explains the theory behind them. Enhance your knowledge of a range of mathematical skills together with your understanding of management, including managerial economics. Training in the mathematical sciences is highly valued by employers.

Course Modules

Students take the following modules, plus 1 mathematics option module from those available on the BSc mathematics in year 3 and a mixture of mathematics and accounting option modules in year 4. Year 1: Algebra 1; calculus 1; management studies; year 2: Calculus 2; discrete mathematics; proof and structure in mathematics; year 3: Introduction to accounting and managerial economics; 1 mathematics option module from those available on the BSc Mathematics; year 4: Mathematics and management optional modules.
