Course Introduction

The Television Production BA course offers creative opportunities to explore all TV genres and distribution platforms. Based at our state'of'the'art Harrow Campus ' a cutting'edge creative hub, and one of the leading media, arts and design educational facilities in Europe ' you will be able to work across a wide range of projects, from documentary and drama series to TV commercials, virals and studio entertainment shows. The multi'camera studio is fully equipped with industry standard equipment featuring the Tri'caster 8000 live production system and Ikegami studio cameras. Our Cam'corders, Black'magic, Canon (Movie) and DLSR cameras support an HDV workflow. Editing is taught on Avid, Premiere and FCPX. The ethos of the course supports students in developing their professional practice, underpinned by critical analysis of the ever'changing globalised broadcast and digital media industries. The course is accredited by Creative Skillset, the skills body for the creative industries.

Course Modules

Modules can include: Advertising and promotional culture; audience studies; celebrity culture and the media; contemporary issues in media policy creativity; cultural industries and media markets; law and the media; media around the globe; multiculturalism and the media; news and public opinion; religion and the media; sex, violence and censorship; sound, music and the media.
