Course Introduction

The course has been designed to give a good background on digital signal processing (DSP), digital signal processors (e.g. the kind used in set top boxes and image processing), control systems and micro controllers. You can then choose a number of options to tailor your education mixing computing and engineering subjects. If you are vocationally inclined toward management, we also offer a version of the course that includes management modules.

Course Modules

Modules include: Mechatronics and automation; control systems; digital signal processing; digital signal processors; research methods; project/dissertation; management modules: managing people and organisations; financial resource management; entrepreneurship in context; managing operations. Option modules may include: advanced automotive electronics; component'based software engineering; developing object'orientated solutions; digital imaging; embedded media streaming; imaging devices; pattern recognition and neural networks; programming in java; multimedia communications; scientific programming; sensors and actuators.

Course Additional Entry

An Honours degree or equivalent in computer science, information technology (IT), electronics, engineering or mathematics; or substantial relevant work experience; applicants whose 1st language is not English require an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in reading, listening and speaking.
