Course Introduction

The course helps students gain a grounding in the professional aspects of museum practice as well as first'hand experience in planning and organising design exhibitions; this practical experience is supported by modules in history and theory, ensuring that students have a thorough knowledge of the ideas and context underpinning the display and curating of contemporary designed objects; there is a strong emphasis on research skills and presentation, ensuring a high level of professional development.

Course Modules

Modules include: City cultures (New York); professional practice; interpreting contemporary design; theory of the object; making of the modern world; interdisciplinary practice research; dissertation.

Course Additional Entry

Applicants should have a BA (Hons) degree or equivalent qualification in an academic subject or creative practice field; relevant work experience; interview; applicants whose 1st language is not English must have an IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent.
