Course Introduction

The course covers some of the mathematics behind modern secure information and communications systems; the programme of study specialises in mathematics relevant for public key cryptography, coding theory and information theory.

Advanced cipher systems; channels; theory of error'correcting codes; public key cryptography; main project; applications of field theory; quantum information theory; network algorithms; advanced financial mathematics; combinatorics; computational number theory; complexity theory.

UK Upper Second Class Honours degree (2.1); or equivalent, in mathematics. English language requirements IELTS 6.5, TOEFL (iBT) 88, or equivalent, for non'native English speaking applicants
