Course Introduction

BA Painting at Wimbledon College of Arts values a medium specific studio environment. This course provides a context for creative exploration, as we encourage our students to be inventive, ambitious and professional with their practice.

Course Modules

Year 1: Introduction to study in higher education (fine art); introduction to subject specific practice; establishing subject specific practice (personal and professional development); introduction to critical practice for fine art. Year 2: Understanding collaborative practice; developing subject specific practice (personal and professional development); developing subject specific practice (personal and professional development); international exchange (personal and professional development); describe, analyse, situate (critical practice for fine art). Year 3: Realisation of subject specific art practices (personal and professional development); realisation of critical practice and research for fine art.
