Course Introduction

Diagnostic Radiography students use the digital image interpretation lab with a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) similar to that used in the NHS. The image interpretation lab is used for positioning workshops where limbs are positioned into appropriate points for x'ray. Students evaluate images and diagnose fractures and breaks as well as carrying out mandatory training of moving and handling the patient. In workshops, students are presented with a case study and have to decide how to best achieve desired images. Students use the laboratory on a weekly basis throughout their studies and case studies of images get progressively more difficult throughout the course.
