University of East London

Course Introduction

The Music Performance and Production programme at UEL will help you to develop specialist music and production skills, exploring different forms of music making while expanding your knowledge about music. The programme combines studio work with performances at venues including the student bar, the Stratford Circus performing arts venue and venues in Shoreditch and Brick Lane, such as Plastic People and 93 Feet East. Students will get the opportunity to; take part in extra'curricular events organised by network hubs for Electronic Dance Music, Live Performance and Live Electronics, make the most of cutting'edge facilities and musical equipment, take subsidised vocal and instrumental lessons at Stratford Circus, meet music professionals and take a supervised work placement to improve your future career options and gain the skills you need to enter a wide range of music'related careers. Some graduates pursue careers working as musicians, music producers, sound designers or DJs, while others opt to work in the business side of the music industry, in music journalism, music teaching and music community organisations.
