Course Introduction

This course provides training in all aspects of the supply of clean water; the control of pollution and the protection of public health; waste water treatment; air pollution control; and solid waste management.

Course Modules

Modules include: advanced water and wastewater treatment; air pollution control; chemistry for environmental engineering; contaminated land and groundwater; design project; dissertation; environmental analysis; environmental fluid mechanics; environmental management in developing countries; environmental management and decision'making; hydroinformatics; containment engineering; mathematical and statistical modelling; microbiology for environmental engineering; solid waste management; water and wastewater treatment; water supply and distribution; business management; sustainable development.

Course Additional Entry

2.1 Honours degree in a relevant subject (particularly in subjects such as civil engineering, as well as other branches of engineering, natural sciences, earth sciences and other numerate disciplines). Applications are invited from undergraduates completing their 1st degree, as well as those with relevant industrial and professional experience. Special cases, based on relevant experience, may be made in some circumstances.
