Course Introduction

Earth Sciences (International Programme) MSci allows you to select from the range of options offered across environmental geoscience, geology and geophysics. You may also graduate with a degree in Earth Sciences (Palaeobiology), or in Earth Sciences (Planetary Science), dependent on your chosen courses. This four'year programme allows students to follow any of the MSci programmes offered by UCL Earth Sciences, with the additional opportunity to spend year three studying at an approved university in Australia, New Zealand, continental Europe or North America.

Course Modules

Year 1 examples: From petrology to petrogenesis; history of life; dynamic earth. Year 2 examples: Petrology; petrography; structural geology and tectonics. Year 3 examples: Year abroad. Year 4 examples: Physical volcanology and volcanic hazard; palaeoclimatology; continental magmatism; hydrogeology and groundwater resources.
