With more than 2,000 students, the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at Westminster is one of the largest providers of built environment education in the country. It is also one of the best; in 2013 the Faculty has been ranked joint second in the UK by the professional publication Architects' Journal, voted for by architects in practice. All our architecture studios are situated at the recently refurbished Marylebone Campus, creating a vibrant academic and creative studio culture, and we engage leading practitioners in the delivery of our courses. We have developed strong links with the various professions and future employers, leading to excellent employment prospects for our students. The Faculty has achieved unparalleled success in recent years in the RIBA Student Awards, which promote excellence in the study of architecture. Our students have won the RIBA Dissertation Medal five times since 2005, and the RIBA Silver Medal four times during the same time period.
The structure of the course is primarily based on core modules, with one option module in years 2 and 3. Option modules are integrated within concurrent design projects together with the knowledge, skills and abilities generated by lectures in the core modules.
