Getting to London
London has more flights and connections to worldwide destinations than any other city. International students arriving in the UK will find excellent transport links from all five London airports, giving you easy access to the city.
There is also the Eurostar, London's high-speed train that takes you to mainland Europe in just over two hours. You can also use trains and coaches to explore the rest of the UK easily.
Travelling in London
London's famous underground train, or 'tube' as we call it, makes travelling across the city easy. Our red double-decker buses operate 24-hours a day so you will always be able to get home.
You can buy an electronic Oyster travel card to get cheaper travel. A student discount of 30% is available on a variety of travel cards. Visit Transport for London for more advice.
For a special treat, take one of London's black cabs to travel in style and enjoy a conversation with a London 'cabbie'.
Sometimes the best way around the city is to walk. Discover your new home and see how close together the sights and shops of London really are. WalkIt.com is great tool to plan routes in advance of your arrival.
Tip - Pick up a free tube map available at all tube stations or use Transport for London's Journey Planner to navigate your way across the city.
